Shortly after beginning her career as a model, she began acting as a guest on 90's television shows such as Boy Meets World and High Incident. Her film debut came in 1997's drama film Nowhere. Her transition into major roles with her performances as a character in American Beauty for which she received nominations for an BAFTA Award and American Pie each of which garnered her wider attention. The actress has appeared in American Pie's Co-Star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the lead character in Sugar & Spice (2001).
